Manitoba Building Trades Convention
Building Momentum Together
In 2024, Manitoba Building Trades hosted its first-ever Convention—a landmark event that brought together union leaders, industry partners, and elected officials to shape the future of unionized construction in our province. Over two powerful days, delegates from across Manitoba came together to share knowledge, pass policy, elect new leadership, and celebrate the collective strength of our affiliated unions.
The 2024 Convention marked a turning point for Manitoba’s skilled trades. With a renewed focus on advocacy, workforce development, and political action, we laid the foundation for stronger representation and a unified voice in the years ahead. It was more than just a gathering—it was a demonstration of solidarity, progress, and pride in the unionized trades.
As per Article 10 in the Manitoba Building and Construction Trades Council Constitution and By-laws, the Convention shall be held annually during the time and place decided by the Executive Board. In 2025, the Executive Board actioned Article 10 1(C), and placed convention on a biennial cycle.
Convention 2026
We’re proud to announce that the Manitoba Building Trades Convention will return in 2026. Stay tuned for more details as we continue to build on this momentum.
We’ve held our golf tournament fundraiser since 1991 and have raised close to half a million dollars for both of these causes and others in the community. MBT’s Charities Annual Golf Tournament is an exciting, anticipated and well-attended event – last year’s tournament sold out.
